The book City Roots features well developed characters that can be relatable to people of all ages from teens to adults. While reading, I found myself experiencing a range of emotions as I fell in love with some of the characters while not liking others that much. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I enjoyed how the book kept me engaged and turning the pages making it a quick read that held my intention until the end. The ending was a surprise. City Roots: The Neighborhood was an amazing read! A well written story that we can all relate to! I instantly fell in love with Melissa. Without giving away too much, I love the way Lu touched on every characters background to prepare the reader as a story developed. I had a four hour flight and started it waiting for departure , I couldn’t put it down! The way book one ended had me going back through the book to figure out who and how!
